Mayor’s Message
Municipal Mayor
Maayos at Ramdam na Serbisyo. Reina Mercedes Progresibo!
My fellow Reina Mercedes residents,
Welcome to the official website of our municipality. This digital home is meant to bring government closer to every household — so that permits, public information, and frontline services are easier to find, understand, and use.
Our administration is guided by a simple standard: service that is orderly, and service that people can actually feel. That is the heart of Maayos at Ramdam na Serbisyo. We work toward a Reina Mercedes that is an agro-industrial zone of Isabela — with healthy, self-sufficient, literate, and peace-loving people living in a safe, clean, and well-planned community, governed with accountability and faith.
Together with the Vice Mayor, the Sangguniang Bayan, our department heads, and barangay leaders, we will keep investing in food security, livelihoods, public health, and transparent local governance. When families can grow food, share harvests, and access municipal services without delay, our town becomes more resilient — before calamities and after them.
I invite you to use this website, follow our Public Information Office, and tell us how we can serve you better. Reina Mercedes moves forward when every resident is part of the work.
Mabuhay po kayong lahat.

Our story
Reina Mercedes was founded in 1743 on the early Gaddang site of Abbag, which means “on the other side” (of the Magat River), before then being renamed to Calering, and Calanusian (from canusi, a species of white ebony).
The town was finally renamed in honor of Queen Mercedes of Orléans, the first consort of Alfonso XII, son of Isabela II. Mercedes died of tuberculosis on June 26, 1878, in the fourth year of Alfonso’s reign.
When the town was partitioned from Cauayan on January 20, 1886, the priest Pedro Jiménez named it after the late queen.
